Dario Lara - Maguaco

Dario Lara founded Maguaco in 2003 since then he has dedicated his career to the development and constant innovation of wood fashion accessories like watches and sunglasses.

Dario uses in his designs pieces of wood that come from carpenters' shops' waste and also legal crops and reforestation programs. 

He is also incorporating rubber that comes from airplane tires. 

Maguaco has won two important design awards in Colombia “Traza Artesanal in 2009” and “Lapiz de Acero in 2010.”

Maguaco employs ten other artisans from low-income areas in Bogotá that had no previous knowledge of woodwork and Dario has given them proper training producing now works of art.
